Centrifugal oil filter has a rotor sleeve on a shaft, and there are two jet nozzle opposite direction, when the oil into the rotor from the nozzle out, the rotor will be rapidly rotating, so that the oil in the rotor body is clean, the impurities in the oil is centrifugal thrown to the inner wall of the rotor, the oil flow out of the nozzle back to the oil sump. Centrifugal oil filters are characterized by stable performance, the absence of filter elements that need to be replaced, as long as the rotor is removed regularly to clean the dirt deposited on the rotor wall and can be reused. Its life is equivalent to that of an engine. It has the disadvantages of complex structure, high price, heavy, etc., and high technical requirements for users.
Full-flow oil filters, such as the replaceable type, rotary type, shunt centrifugal type, etc., filter all the oil entering the system. Split-flow filter can only filter 5%-10% of the oil supplied by the oil pump. Split flow oil filters are fine filters. They are usually used in combination with full flow. Most engines with small power only adopt full-flow filter, while diesel engines with large power mostly adopt full-flow plus shunt filter.
